Fox News Reports 2nd Dubious Instance of Planting a Question by the Clinton Campaign

This is a fair and balanced blog post of course.

Update:

Unlike the straight “gotcha” journalism (which is needed in the Pres. Campaign), a clip below shows Fox crossing the line for journalistic integrity:

Another Question Planted by Team Hillary?

In a telephone interview with Fox, Geoffrey Mitchell, 32, says he was approached by an operative for the Clinton campaign to ask a planted question about standing up to President Bush on Iraq war funding. The encounter happened before an event on a farm outside Fort Madison, Iowa. The Clinton event was hosted by Iowa State Sen. Gene Fraise.

Cheering the efforts of Fox News is not something I find myself doing often.

Today around 1:28, they reported a story with the specific name of a Clinton Campaign operative trying and failing to plant a question back in March. When the Campaign was unable to make the plant, Sentator Clinton declined to take any questions at the event in question.

I don’t like being caustic. However, anyone who supports Clinton deserves exactly what they get, unless I suppose she ends up running against Rudy, where one can argue she is the lesser of two evils.

Update 6:07

1. Fox admitted debate on Internet whether it was really OBL in the new tape.

2. Fox covered Bush in Hawaii saying in essence, that the bin Laden video was a soft ball pinch that he could hit out of the park….. how important it is to stay in Iraq, etc. etc.

Update 3:54 pm

Romney Says Bin Laden Is Deluded

“Who can be so deluded as he is?” Romney said.

Romney told reporters afterward that bin Laden’s ideas on Americans being coerced into converting to Islam “are not in line with rational thought.”

Romney said while visiting the campus of a northwest Iowa community college that the new videotaped message from al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden is nearly impossible for Americans to understand.

Hot Air » Blog Archive » Eh: Flying imams finally drop suit against “John Doe” passengers

Their attorney said three weeks ago that he wasn’t planning to name any of them as defendants but not until today did he formally pull the plug. That’s super, but it doesn’t change the fact that we got jobbed on the “John Doe” provision. A true immunity statute would empower the court to dismiss the suit before it goes to trial; the provision we ended up with lets CAIR et al. litigate to the bitter end, with the only penalty available for a bogus claim being an award of attorney’s fees. That’s an exceptionally weak deterrent given the willingness and financial ability of certain Islamist elements to sue their critics into silence. Remember, according to the Wash Times, the lion’s share of CAIR’s $3 million budget comes from just two dozen or so donors; obviously someone has the wherewithal to advance their agenda, and thanks to the “John Doe” flaw, they’ll have every opportunity. In all likelihood it’s the bad publicity the imams have gotten over this incident, not the law, that led them to cut their losses this time.

Blogger Thoughts: Marie Therese misses the meaning of this big time. The Imams were almost certainly doing a acting job (similar to Mel Gibson’s fake anti -Israel ranting incident).

News Hounds: Hannity’s Guest Admits Flying Imams Were in Dan… On Sunday night’s edition of Hannity’s America host Sean Hannity wallowed in an orgy of xenophobia. First he did a smear job on the “flying Imams” by interviewing three of the passengers who originally panicked and reported the Muslim men. He gloated over the fact that the Congress had passed a bill protecting “John Does” from lawsuits. After this, he made the mistake of arguing with attorney Stanley Cohen, counsel for the legally elected Hamas government. Hannity should know better than to debate liberal attorneys. He always loses. After whining that the Democrats have raised $100 million more than the Republicans, Hannity aired footage of himself mounted on his trusty steed, as if he was Hop-a-long Hannity, Texas Ranger, riding with the El Paso Border Patrol to round up cattle rustlers and other varmints. The only problem was that Hop-a-long’s crew only caught a sorry-looking bunch of poverty-stricken Mexicans risking their lives to find work. With video.

That New York “Dirty Bomb” Scare

In the midst of Fox News coverage of the mine disaster in Utah (which seems likely only a death watch) Fox News has terrorism “expert” Richard Miniter on for a short report about the latest NYC dirty bomb scare. Mr. Miniter, after saying that this latest report is based on “chat” from a Europe based identity who had provided chatter prior to the oh-so-serious liquid bomb plot of 2006 (saying this with a straight face), explains that NYC Mayor Bloomberg (as required by political strategy of any US politician) must provide some mention of the threat so as to avoid looking like he withheld information from the public when a plot goes live.
