Update 6/5/07
Yesterday, Fox News Channel broke the story of Rep. William Jefferson’s indictment with video of Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers greeting Attorney General Alberto Gonzales at a recent Judiciary Committee hearing. The network apologized on-air for airing the wrong video; however, they did not personally apologize to Mr. Conyers or describe the video they aired the previous day. Chairman Conyers responded today:
“Fox News has a history of inappropriate on-air mistakes that are neither fair, nor balanced. This type of disrespect for people of color should no longer be tolerated. I am personally offended by the network’s complete disregard for accuracy in reporting and lackluster on-air apology.”
Update 5/31/07
Of course I find the following offensive:
As someone who appreciates provocateurs, I have less of an issue with the spectacle she creates than the following might imply. It’s more her enablers to whom this is targeted; the molly coddlers who want Rosie to be Rosie. Which is much in the manner of desiring a crack head to be a crack head. It’s an unhealthy attraction to a fatal flaw.

Rosie will be missed – the View has returned to its former “humdrum” self and I will no longer tune in!

I enjoyed watching the first 15 minutes of the show to see what Rosie would say…. I have no reason to watch any longer…. The fight was great…
A Notion From 9/11 Is Kept
Alive
The first day of the post-Rosie O’Donnell
era on “The View” television show has come and gone, and by any
fair accounting, an often useful provocateur has left the
building.
In her final months on the air, she mostly dropped her public
torment of an attention-starved, orange-haired real estate
developer. Instead, she opened debates with others about terrorism,
peace and citizenship.
She also recently took up — without quite spelling out — a
theory that one of the buildings at the World Trade Center, No. 7,
was brought down by bombs late in the afternoon of Sept. 11, 2001.
No. 7 was not one of the towers struck by the airplanes, she said,
but a separate building “that got hit by nothing — 47 floors and
dropped, 5:30, into itself.”
Update 5/29/07
Rosie continues to be about as helpful as Ward Churchill. Churchill is a “Mockingbird” Rosie is probably simply just selfish and clueless.
Rosie O’Donnell: No Peace With ‘White Men in Charge’
Rosie says – no sorry. She answers as the victim, “There will never be peace, if the white men are in charge. The women are collateral damage.” Ugh.

5/26/07
Rosie denies the dubious “trashing the dressing room” rumor.
Rosie seems not to realize how ignoble her selfish quiting is. Where is a realization that the people behind 9/11 have every reason to play hardball? What kind of battle did Rosie think she was fighting.
And Rosie thinks it’s OK for her to take her toys and go home???! (Rosie actually tries and fails to address this specific question in the vid below).
Rosie claims to support the innocents, and she doesn’t acknowledge she gave up the position with huge continued potential to reach people from The View.

While O’Donnell and Hasselbeck had a tiff, to be sure, it was Fox guest Curtis Sliwa who actually threatened violence, openly and on national television expressing his wish to take a baseball bat to O’Donnell and beat her like a “human piñata.”…
Obviously such misogyny is normal for men of little intellect and commonplace among the Fox propagandists. But it is not what these lunatics say that is at issue; rather, it is how the country reacts or does not react that is of concern.
Covert action: In her blog, Larisa also has some much needed words for Mitt Romney, who takes ABC News to task for reporting on an unauthorized covert action undertaken by the intelligence community. The lack of authorization did not bother Mitt; the reporting ticked him off.

ABC: Rosie O’Donnell Won’t Be Back on ‘The View’
NEW YORK — Rosie O’Donnell will not be back on “The View,” ABC announced Friday, two days after she and co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck got into a huge political dust-up live on the talk show.

NY Times Attempts To Debunk 9/11 Truth; Fails Miserably
More mainstream coverage, more
ignorance of the facts

In a report detailing Rosie O’Donnell’s confirmed plans
to have 9/11 truthers debate the attacks on The View
before she leaves in June, The New York Times has responded
by penning an extremely
poor attack piece which cites previous shoddy debunking
efforts while completely ignoring key evidence often referred
to by the many scientific experts, ex government officials,
whistleblowers and truthers in general that have declared
the event an inside job.
Skipping over the fact that some guys in
a cave in Afghanistan were able to coordinate a total
stand down of US air defenses, and completely ignoring
the mountains of evidence of prior knowledge, the Times
makes four main points in an effort to debunk solely the
controlled demolition aspect of the 9/11 truth movement’s
assertions.

The debate over the third building that collapsed at ground zero on Sept. 11, 2001, is back.
On the campaign trail, former Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani and a former senior aide are blaming each other for setting up the city’s emergency command center in a building at the World Trade Center that would be evacuated during its biggest emergency ever, collapsing hours later because of damage sustained in the terrorist attack.
Or was detonated from within? Rosie O’Donnell smells a cover-up, and has been using her seat on her morning talk show, “The View,” to raise questions. Before leaving as a full-time host, she plans to tackle the issue in a special segment.
