Update 6/25/07
Here’s a quick summary of the arguments made at this blog about why there is no real evidence that planes hit the Twin Towers, and why there is strong reason to believe that false images were broadcast on 9/11. I will fill in the arguments with more links as time allows. Many of these ideas are not my original ideas, and I have tried to cite to original authors and be faithful to what they said. On the other hand, I would be surprised if the mainstream authors I cite would support the conclusions I draw from their work.

As part of its cover story on “what you need to know now,” Newsweek conducted a broad poll on a variety of political and cultural affairs. There were plenty of interesting results, but one section was particularly noteworthy.
Even today, more than four years into the war in Iraq, as many as four in ten Americans (41 percent) still believe Saddam Hussein’s regime was directly involved in financing, planning or carrying out the terrorist attacks on 9/11, even though no evidence has surfaced to support a connection. A majority of Americans were similarly unable to pick Saudi Arabia in a multiple-choice question about the country where most of the 9/11 hijackers were born. Just 43 percent got it right — and a full 20 percent thought most came from Iraq.

case by assuming the worst about my intentions, my work and what I say, so I must try to correct the record. But first, let me explain why I am responding to him now rather than, say, back in January.

After a while, I saw a huge fireball on the second tower — being on the far side, I didn’t see the plane and assumed a bomb or something had gone off. Other people behind me on land had a wider view and said they saw the second plane approach from far away, figuring it was a rescue plane of some kind. The second image shows the puff of the second impact, with arcing debris on the left side.

This blog is meant to play the role of a diary or notepad for interesting links, many having to do with September 11. Rarely do I post anything near the short or long essays like other bloggers.
With that said, I think there has been enough activity at Screw Loose Change Blog and other places I frequent to warrant a “coming clean” or at least an explanation of where I stand with respect to 9/11 alternative theories. For 98% of those who find most all “9/11 Truthers” repugnant, I realize that there is not much to be gained as far as earning respect. So, I’m doing this for myself and for those other 2% of 9/11 Govt. story supporters, and for all those who pour your heart and soul into speaking out against the certain avoidance of the truth, and/or lies by individuals who owe their Country more of an explanation than has been provided.
To keep this short, I’m going to focus on the 2nd hit on 9/11, and the particular point of view which is sometimes called the “no plane” argument.
In many ways, implications of 9/11 alternative explanations describing who was behind 9/11 and the specifics of how it was executed are not important. Additionally, various authors have developed the abbreviations such as LIHOP and MIHOP. As useful as these labels are, I am arguing that the specifics of how 9/11 was engineered, and the extent that a certain circle of preps either provocateured, or engineered the destruction is not the overarching concern either. I want to note clearly that I’m saying that nuts and bolts of what happened and how, and how many innocent lives were destroyed, is of lesser import than an understanding of the nature of the “trick” and the huge payoff that the trick provided.
For those of you who simply want to debate and debunk various alternative theories, I know the following is going to bore you, so skip it if you wish.
Now, the rest of us, not the ones who just want to argue, and who are more interested in the impact of 9/11 on civilization than “conspiracy/anti-conspiracy debates”, should be able to agree on the following:
1) 9/11 was a slam dunk as a propaganda tool.
As a propaganda tool, it justified:
a) aggressive invasions of foreign lands
b) laws passed to enable police actions (spying, mass hysteria, and other steps including unchecked arrest and detainment) which would normally be met with massive push back from legislators and members of the public.
The mass media based experience of 9/11 created a myth of a grave danger (from mainly Arab terrorists) that would provide a foundational meme to justify a seemingly unlimited amount of military mobilization, spending, and general fear culture.
The idea that there exists a group of people who could have planned such an ambitious operation was indeed very difficult for this author accept, as it is for a huge majority of Americans. For example, there is very little in mainstream documented history of the US that could begin to explain how the press, particularly all major TV broadcasting outlets, could be co-opted to play along or support such a wholesale betrayal of the truth. Therefore, in order to begin to make a case for such a conspiracy, one must be able to point to evidence that this coordinated trickery is possible. (Hint: the ruse only required the insider status of a hand-full of individuals with access and amazing technology.)
Of course it’s way beyond the scope of this post to provide the background to make the case for the “Octopus”; for that reason, I’ll focus on the 2nd hit to serve as a gateway to seeing the larger picture.
Sometimes, rather than jump to a dry description of what transpired on 9/11 with the 2nd hit event, it is instructive to see how others have grappled with the same evidence and interpretations, and how they have struggled and fallen short of getting to the crux of the matter as well as failing to find the clues pointing to breakthrough knowledge. To demonstrate this, let’s start with:

The context of WNYW, to demonstrate the sudden change of cameras to the opposite side, to the chopper, just to broadcast the fake plane “wescamed” by chopper 5, after that only and singular event they went back to the prevous camera that was at the other side (what did that camera without “a wescam” captured? 3) A firey explosion burst forth from a corner of WTC 2 about two thirds
of the way up, perhaps the 60th floor. The fireball created an intense radiative
impulse of heat from which we all had to turn our heads. From my vantage
point, I could not see the plane that caused it, which hit 180 degrees on
the other side of the building. Nor did I know at the time that a plane caused
it. I first thought it was a bomb, but the explosion was not accompanied
by the tell-tale acoustic Shockwave that rattles windows. This was
simply a low frequency rumble.
As it burst from the building’s corner, the fireball was so large that
it extended all the way across to WTC 1. The fact the building’s corner exploded
tells me that the ignited jet fuel got focused by the sides of the floor
into which the second plane flew, meeting at the corner with increased explosive
pressure. The flames were accompanied by countless thousands of sheets of
paper that burst forth
